Sapphire Bracelets
A sapphire can be almost any colour, but we usually think of it as blue. The mineralogical name for sapphire is corundum (like ruby). Chromic oxide causes the red colour in rubies and titanium oxide causes the blue colour that produces sapphires. The sapphire has a hardness of 9 on the Moh's scale (a diamond is 10) and is one of the most desired gemstones.
Sapphire is the birthstone for September.

Margaret Rose
This chain bracelet is one of my favorites. Faceted sapphires are bezel-set in vermeil so that the gemstone shows on both sides. Between the bezelled sapphires are small smooth pebble sapphires. The rings of the bracelet and toggle clasp are gold-filled. The sapphires are a beautiful deep blue. 119.99

Wear sapphires the next time you go on a long journey. The ancients felt that wearing sapphires would provide protection for the traveller.
On Golden Pond
This sapphire bracelet gets its name from all the gold present. This is a sapphire bracelet, but it also contains Australian opals - the white kind that have the iridesence or "flash" in them. While these Lightening Ridge, Australia opals aren't perfect, they are very, very pretty and show some of the play of color that one expects from real opals. The two strands of the bracelet consist of a sapphire and opal strand with large and small 14 karat gold-filled beads and a chain strand of 14 karat gold-filled chain that dangles little gold charms. A 14 karat gold-filled toggle clasp is the closure. All 14 karat gold-fill. 144.99
