Abalone Jewelry
Abalone is not a stone, but a shell made of calcium carbonate that is exceedingly strong. The number of species range from about 100 to about 130 species (due to the occurrence of hybrids), known by the beautiful array of colours (the outside is brown; it's the inside of the shell that is so beautiful) yielding mother-of-pearl. The lovely iridiscence of abalone shell jewelry makes it a natural classic.

Abalone Bracelets
A Sea Change
Some bracelets just seem to sing to me, and this is one of them. Three large abalone ovals are at the center of this bracelet which features sterling silver from the Thai Karen Hill Tribes in the form of shell and fish beads. Two sterling chains are on either side of the abalone section of the bracelet dangling sanddollar charms. The highlight of this bracelet, besides the striking abalone, is the wonderful frog clasp in sterling. It has a cabochon freshwater pearl on its back that one presses to clasp and unclasp the bracelet and looks wonderful with the abalone. The bracelet is a conversation piece. Price: 144.99 |
SOLDWhere Secrets LieSOLD
Double-stranded abalone has a surprise: a faceted nugget of prehnite in the middle of the bracelet. The rest of the bracelet features sterling silver from Bali and the Thai Karen Hill Tribes and abalone. The abalone has beautiful colors, and the prehnite is like a secret hiding in plain sight! The Shimmer of Water (Le Miroitement de L'eau)
A smooth nugget of beautiful aqua chalcedony centers this abalone bracelet. Three borosilicate artist's lampwork beads add depth and presence to the bracelet and pull the colors of the chalcedony and the abalone together. Pretty sterling silver accents are from the Thai Karen Hill Tribes and Bali (we import them from both countries). A second strand is made of sterling oval links of chain dangling sterling spiral charms. A strong toggle clasp in sterling is the closure. Price: 138.99 |

Mermaid Dreams
This bracelet is like something that a mermaid would wear with its gleaming ovals and coins of abalone and the preciousness of 14 karat gold-fill. It is a rich look, but one that can go casual or dressy. We love bangle bracelets and this one is no exception. And gold with abalone? To die for! Price: 62.99 |
Moana
This piece of abalone jewelry is dominated by a large oval mosaic abalone. Natural abalone longs, and abalone veneers in rounds and rectangles form the bracelet. The second strand is made of Thai Karen Hill Tribes sterling silver tiny engraved tubes. A sterling toggle clasp is the closure. A larger sterling shell bead is next to the focal oval. A little sterling silver shell charm hangs from one side of the second strand. The sheen and iridescence are beautiful. Price: 95.99 |

Abalone Necklaces
Beijos
Emerald colored aventurines are wirewrapped in 14 karat gold-filled wire and strung together with 14 karat goldfilled rings. The crown of the necklace is the natural abalone pendant. Whichever side you wear it facing, it is gorgeous with all the colorplay that you expect from abalone. If you have other abalone jewelry, this is the perfect piece to pair with. We can add an extension chain to this necklace so that you have versatility in length. Price: 97.99 |
Marilla
I fell in love with this abalone pendant and had to have it. With its bezel set stones, it is absolutely beautiful. A large oval of abalone is at the top of the pendant followed by a freshwater Biwa pearl set horizontally under it, and an oval cabochon amethyst under that. I decided that the stones looked so good together that I would let the necklace follow its lead! Cultured freshwater Biwa pearls are strung both horizontally and vertically with genuine faceted amethyst nuggets and ovals and rounds of abalone. Sterling silver accents the necklace. This abalone necklace is sooooo much prettier in person when the beauty of the abalone and amethysts show as well as the iridiscent shine of the Biwa pearls. Personal favorite! Price: 169.99 |
When the Waves Dance
Cultured freshwater Biwa pearls are accented by rounds of beautiful abalone in this new version of the classic pearl necklace. Shining nacre on the pearls, and the tiniest little sterling silver Karen Hill Tribes beads are between each element. A sterling silver toggle clasp is the closure. If you don't have any abalone at all in your jewelry wardrobe, this is a great way to introduce it! Price: 83.99 |
